David G. Bowyer received his B.S. in Pharmacy from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and has worked in a variety of practice settings in his pharmacy career including both hospital and community pharmacy. He has also worked as a consultant pharmacist in the long term care settings. He has served as both a board member and president of the West Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacists along with two terms as voting delegate to the American Society of Health System Pharmacists representing West Virginia. David has worked primarily in a rural setting for the majority of his career and has developed an interest in improving health care in those areas. In his previous position, he provided academic detailing services to physicians in a variety of practice settings and developed material related to evidence based guidelines in specific fields. This program won a 2004 Innovations national award from the Council of State Governments. |
