Dennis Flaherty, a native West Virginian, holds Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from West Virginia University and is an internationally recognized expert in immunotoxicology. Dr. Flaherty has held various positions in industry and academia. In his position at the Monsanto Corporation he served as a Science Fellow providing strategic technical leadership in the corporation and developing new technologies of importance to Monsanto. He has held faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Saint Louis University Medical School, the University of Missouri St. Louis, and Lamar University, Beaumont Texas.
Dr. Flaherty has written two reference books on Immunotoxicology, a laboratory manual for Introductory Microbiology courses, and has served as an editor for a book on animal testing in toxicology. Moreover, he has published over 50 papers in peer reviewed journals, numerous scientific abstracts, and book chapters. The United States Patent Office and international patenting agencies have awarded seven technology patents to Dr. Flaherty
Dennis is married to Carol Shuba Flaherty formerly of Weirton, WV. He and his wife reside in Charleston.
