Dean B. Reardon, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Charleston’s School of Pharmacy. Dr. Reardon earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in cancer biology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in 1994. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Reardon was a postdoctoral fellow in pharmacology at the University of Virginia under Thomas Sturgill, M.D. as well as a postdoctoral fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia’s Massy Cancer Center. Prior to joining the University of Charleston’s School of Pharmacy, Dr. Reardon has taught human physiology and pharmacology at schools of pharmacy in Louisiana and Virginia prior to join the UC School of Pharmacy. Dr. Reardon received his B.S. and M.S. in Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in the Northern Virginia area.

Dr. Reardon has conducted research in the area of cancer treatment and tumor metastasis for more than 15 years and has published over twenty articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Reardon has presented his research at numerous national meetings as well as presentations in London, England and Dundee, Scotland. In addition, Dr. Reardon has graduated two Ph.D. candidates from his former laboratory who are currently conducting postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Alabama Birmingham and Harvard.

In his spare time, Dr. Reardon enjoys the riding his motorcycle in the mountains and he enjoys doing woodworking. Dr. Reardon was born in England and has spent the most of his life on the east coast.
