Rebecca studied the cello at San Francisco State University and earned her first bachelor’s degree in Music in 1986. She returned to S.F. State and received a BS in Biochemistry in 1999. Rebecca’s interest in enzymology began with her undergraduate research project, studying the kinetics of a carboxypeptidase. In the fall of 1999, Rebecca began working with Dr. V. Jo Davisson of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy studying enzymes of the histidine biosynthetic pathway. She completed her Ph.D. in December 2004. Dr. Myers is continuing her enzymological work on triad glutamine amidotransferases through research projects here at the University of Charleston.
