Dr. Richard Stull received his BS in Biological Sciences from Southern Illinois University in 1968 and his MS and Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Louisiana University - Monroe in 1972. After a postdoctoral position at the University of California at San Francisco he joined the University of Illinois as a faculty member within the School of Basic Medical Sciences. He has been a pharmacy faculty member since 1978, having served at the University of Arkansas and Idaho State University. He helped establish 2 new schools of pharmacy, at Texas Tech University and Shenandoah University before coming to the University of Charleston as the founding Dean.

Stull has been involved with computers in health sciences education since his first academic position at the University of Illinois in 1973. He has published numerous educational computer programs, articles and books regarding the use of technology in health science education and has consulted with national agencies and health care groups regarding educational technology. In addition he has published some 25 reviewed scientific articles in the area of pharmacology of the central nervous system and made numerous presentations in the areas of educational technology and pharmacology. He has received a number of awards in research and teaching including the Teacher of the Year several times.
