The University of Charleston School of Pharmacy 2008 Patient Counseling Competition will be held in the Pharmacy for Patient Care (model pharmacy) on January 22, 2008 at 6pm. You must be an APhA-ASP member to participate (you can always join if you are not already a member). There is a link to a document below explaining how the competition will be conducted and the responsibilities of the school's winner. The winner will represent the University of Charleston at the National Patient Counseling Competition to be held March 14-17, 2008 in San Diego, California in conjunction with the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition. The top ten finalists from the school's competition will be awarded prizes compliments of APhA-ASP and the school's winner will receive assistance with travel expenses to attend the competition. The sign-up sheet for the local competition in located on the door of the student lounge on the first floor. You must sign up by Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 5pm. To help you prepare, a list of 5 medications will be provided to you in advance of the competition. These medications include: Hydrochlorothiazide, Vicodin®, Actonel®, Chantix®, or Floxin® Otic.
